Traditional Teachings

Yoga means to yoke, to unite, or union — thus, the ultimate goal of yoga has always been to unite in oneness beyond the ego or sense of self.

The ancient science of yoga comes from teachings some 5,000 to 8,000 years ago. These sacred teachings were first passed from teacher to student, written on palm leaves, and limited to the few who understood the true purpose of the quest. Yoga has always been the pathway, not the ultimate goal.

Some 1,700 years ago, Patanjali wrote 196 Yoga Sutras on the practice of yoga. These Sutras form the eight limbs of yoga today. When practiced, they teach us how to overcome obstacles and delusion while guiding us to live a meaningful and purposeful life. These limbs will be subtly referenced during the class.

Raindrop Essential Oil Massage

Reward yourself with the ultimate essential oil massage experience. Vickie identifies the best essential oils to support your healing from your bio-impedance reading. You are then taken on a deep healing journey as these pure essential oils are massaged into the spinal reflex points on both feet and layered like gentle raindrops along the back — harmonising the energetic system, soothing the nervous system, and nourishing the spine. Includes neck and cranial holds finishing with a blissful head massage. It’s like walking into an amazon rainforest — you’ll never want to leave!!

Meditation is a pathway to a richer, more fulfilling life, encouraging us to be more present, to feel more peaceful, positive, and clear when making life decisions.

Through developing this calm, grounded quality of mind, we acquire the courage and freedom to be our authentic selves and bring our unique gifts to the world.

Meditation in Pacific Palms

Vickie is available for individual or group meditation sessions. These can be tailored to suit your needs and combined into a yoga and/or massage package.

Meditation changes the part of the brain we use in day-to-day thinking and, as a result, shifts the way we perceive the world and live our lives. These changes in the brain are measurable after just 5 days of a 20-minute daily meditation. As new neural pathways are established, meditation becomes easier and more natural. Like all good health practices, consistency is key.

When we understand our inner presence and how to access this part of ourselves, a new reality emerges — one that goes beyond the limitations, prejudices, and habitual patterns of the mind. This opens the door to experiencing our true potential as human beings.

Our Yoga Offerings 🌸

Yin Yoga

A sensational subtle practice that restores balance and harmony to the energetic system, nourishes fascia and deeper connective tissues, ligaments and tendons. Mainly floor or wall is used as poses are held with a meditative breath and body awareness for 3 to 5 minutes.

Gentle Hatha

Great for beginners to get to know the basics or those who enjoy or need a gentler approach, recovering from injury, pre or post natal pregnancy. A lighthearted approach is encouraged with time to explore, savour, softly flow or remain in a static pose of benefit to individual needs.

Align & Flow

The perfect balance of being in the flow and savouring the sweet spot in alignment. The flow provides flexibility and warmth for alignment to be explored with encouragement to honour the uniqueness of your own body and life experience. A blend of self-compassion and subtle breath awareness will ensure you enjoy the journey to your fullest potential. Inversion (or quiet reflective time) precedes a harmonious Savasana.

Vinyasa Flow

A beautiful dynamic flow; inspired through creative sequencing of asana in continuous motion igniting your inner transformative heat. The class begins with a short warm up followed by the predominant flow. Inversion time (or resting reflective time) precedes a welcomed Savasana to savour the new found freedom and inner quiet.
